Feedback from the extremely limited mailout of the new album is slowly trickling in: "I must admit to being a bit of a Rambunctious groupie ever since I first heard them live. The raw acoustic power and obvious joy in playing they brought to the stage was enough to stop any Friday night pub in its tracks and make true believers of all of the punters. But unfortunately, Rambunctious is no more. Fortunately, the front man and songwriter for Rambunctious, Lee Rosser, is still enthused and going from strength to strength. Lee is one of those enigmas of Australian indie rock. A genial man with a sly sense of humour, he has the voice of a hurricane and the ability to coax sounds from his acoustic guitar as though his life depends on it. But for some reason he chooses to be a limited release artist which for us injects a certain urgency into the bargain. On this, his first true solo album, he is joined by the drumming brilliance of Nicky Bomba to create a wonderful synergy of energy and musicianship. The album, “Giving yourself away”, is acoustic rock at its finest. It is full of strong songs with infectious guitar riffs and intricate drumming all acting as a fitting back drop for Lee’s amazing vocal range and power. The beat is tight, driving and fresh conjuring up comparisons with Nirvana and Alice in Chains whilst staking out its own individual and acoustic ground. Recorded in Lees' hay baled studio and mixed and produced by his former band mate Tim Phillips, this album will have you playing air drums from the first bar and singing harmony from the second. Hooray! This is why independents will always matter. If you aren’t hooked and astounded by the track Changing you are certifiably dead. I love this album!” John Carver - PBS FM Melbourne "I played track two on Friday night (first airplay for here on the south coast of NSW). I had to play another straight after that!!! Had a listen to album over the weekend - this is catchy, caught my ears right from the start and a real toe tapper! Other tracks - acoustically beautiful. I've been telling the other presenters to put this on their playlist so I'm hoping to hear some more this week" Paul Hoffman - 2EAR FM "The show with no name" |
